The Future is Here

I once worked with an artist who created Sound Sculptures.  Sound sculptures occupy a space that you can walk onto and be surrounded by sound.  Walk out of it and it goes away.  It was pretty cool.

We used to wish that we could somehow figure out how to compliment the sound sculptures with a hologram, one that looked something like the Aurora Borealis.  That was about 20 years ago.

Well, now the holographic age has arrived.  Check this out:

  1. This image will haunt me for the rest of the day. I'll take the Aurora Borealis (and slightly different music) any day. Some iteration of Back to the Future was on not long ago, and it was interesting to look at how the future was perceived in the '80's. So many things have materialized in different ways. Those flying cars probably aren't far off. Hopefully they won't be powered by BP.

  3. I can think of nothing to say.
If I had money for a holi 3d thingie. I would not waste a dime on clothing. The pole would be central and she would have a he to wiggle her butt onto. But I digress.
Guess I did have something to say after all.

  4. Gropi... it doesn't take much creativity to see how far these things can go. It won't be too long and you will be able to see Punch on a pole. God help us.

Diane... apparently addictive to the audience as well. Of course, they are Japanese with a pop culture all their own.

Punch... I would hate to see what you would do with a holo 3-D thingy. God help us all over again and God help your neighbors who see you through the window. One can only imagine what they would think.

  5. It might just be me, but if I'm gonna see imaginary things, I prefer them to be of my own creation. :-D

  6. So wait now we don't have to buy tickets to worship say...oh Bruce Springsteen but we buy them to worship a hologram with a bad voice to boot? Jaysus religion sure has changed since the 60's.
