Serendipity

Wouldn't it be great if you could stumble across things like this every day?

  1. That, sir, was excellent. Sorry I've been lurking and not commenting for the last few weeks. The network security at work won't allow me to access inline commenting, so it's all about remembering where I visited that day in the few hours between kids getting to bed and turning in myself. That and remembering to actually turn on this decrepit stand-in laptop I'm using while my good one is being repaired. Thank you for this video. It made my night.

  2. Yeah, its cute 'n fun 'n all....but if I hadda work in that building 'n listen to THAT all day long, I'd probably hang myself at the end of the day.

I can only handle cute 'n fun 'n all for so long.

  3. That's awesome. I used to try to take the stairs when I lived in a town with public transport and thus stairs to climb into and out of stations, but sometimes you're just too tired. This would make me happy to take the stairs, even if I was exhausted. (Although not at Covent Garden in London, I swear that place is a mile underground.)

  5. Haha. I have actually already seen this in someone else’s blog, but it was amusing to watch again.

I’m not quite sure how deep the thinking is behind the idea that people will prefer to do something if it’s more fun, but if it gets Volkswagen a bit of publicity I guess the objective has been achieved! I guess it’s rather like the T-Mobile dance: on the one hand it’s blatant advertising, on the other it’s entertainment. Can’t complain.

  6. joshua... lurking about is one of my favorite things. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
DonnaJean... See Holte's comment. Scarlet... I noticed the staircase was only the length of a small keyboard. Holte... Right on comrad. Simon... the T-mobile thing was fun. The same effect as the frozen people in NY's Grand Central.

  7. Why can't everything be found in fun? It sure as hell might make some folks less likely to entertain themselves with bombs, bullets and, gun.

  8. I wonder what it would sound like to drive a VW down the stairs? :-)

  11. Thanks everyone. Mo... lurking is the latest and greatest. You could confine it to lurking around blog posts without comment, as Joshua alluded to, or, you can carry it into Wallmart and the grocery, as Mr. Condescending does with his camera. It basically involves observing without being observed.

  12. Hey, wait a minute! Isn't Mo.Stoneskin the master of lurking in plain sight? Who else would notice an old man losing his glasses on a bus?

  14. Love it! However, as Holte points out, it IS a slippery slope down that socialist/communist/facist stairway. We don't need no stinkin fun in this great country.
