The Art of Photography

I know, like me, many of you are photographers, or graphic artists, or simply appreciators of photography. Either way, you will enjoy this clip found at the NY Times. Video caption: The Times's Adam B. Ellick stumbles across an antique camera on the streets of Jalalabad, Afghanistan. The result is a passport photo in five minutes. Couldn't figure out how to embed this video but here's the link: http://video.nytimes.com/video/2009/09/18/world/1247464676793/the-ultimate-old-media.html

  3. Bella... It's amazing how ancient tech still works. That camera is basically the same thing Matthew Brady used during the Civil War.

Mr. C... I guess those itty bitty smart phones have their limitations. Though it seems like you should be able to follow a link.

  4. I was going to comment on how I really like old B&W prints, but that would be stating the obvious, wouldn't it? Enjoyed the video.

  6. Watched it, hah, I want one of those cameras. I'm shocked any of those are even still operable.

  7. Mr.C... After watching it again, it appears that he does the developing inside of the camera and I'm not sure how to handle a paper negative. Talk about a business-in-a-box.

    Bella... I'll be right over.

  8. Loving that. Basically a box camera. Old as the hills. Doesn't Punch use one of those?
