Sparks Fly From Her Fingertips

It was a peaceful morning not unlike many others
A latte, an outside table at Starbucks
Lithe, lean, she oozed danger
Her eyes, oh so seductive
A man eater
Suddenly, her hair on end
A flash of light
A deafening clap
Shock, awe and fear on surrounding faces
as the lightening embraced her
Once again

Friday Flash 55 at the G-Man's

This is a true story of someone whom I just met a week or so ago.  A free spirit.  The girl who dances around the fire in the drum circle.  A Pagan.  Wicca.  Alluring and fascinating and scary all at the same time.

She was enjoying a coffee at Starbucks when she was struck by lightening.  She described how the one thing she remembers is the faces on the other patrons who were struck dumb by what they had just witnessed.

Of course, the jokes flew about God punishing a witch and all that, but I can't resist learning more about this.  What is it that makes someone a lightening rod?  She says she has been struck by lightening eight times, counting this one.

I'll keep you posted.

  1. That is the precursor to spontaneous combustion, methinks. Nine and that's it, pal.

    1. I'm like the spider to the fly. Irresistibly attracted knowing all the while I'm gonna get burned.

  2. Wow. I'm not sure which I like better, the story, or that image.

She must be something else. Struck by lightning eight times, and lived to tell of it? Yowza. Lightning struck the post oak in our back yard when we were in the back room of our house shooting pool one time, and that was more than close enough for me. Made our hair stand on end, and made our hearts go all syncopated rhythm for a sec. Scary.

    3. You might be on to something here JJ. I could be her agent. Sort of like a circus act. Or better yet, wager on when she's going to be hit next.

    1. That should be pretty easy to figure out. Of course, they're might be confused as to why it's taken HIM so many tries and he still ain't got her!

  8. Some Actuarliest? will tell you the chance of being hit by lighting 8 times is the same as being hit by lighting once.
Well until they have to pay up.
