Things Found Whilst Looking for Other Things - Toting Around My Camera

A variety of things that were to become posts that got lost in the shuffle.

My orchid is doing its thing.  Why it chooses the middle of winter, I don't know.  Maybe it's from south of the Equator.

An early morning stroll on the downtown Riverwalk.  I believe it was New Year's day.

Same place, different view.  As the fog is lifting.

Big Shoals on the Suwanee River just north of White Springs, Florida.  The only white water in the state and a favorite of canoeists and kayakers.  The brown color of the water is from tannic acid (decaying leaves), not man-made pollution.  This is normally a lazy river.  The river springs in the Okefenokee Swamp and is one of the few relatively wild and un-polluted rivers in the state.  A great place for hiking as well.

You can find beauty everywhere if you just look.

I added a brushed stroke effect to this one.  I love the subtle colors.

One I found in the archive.  For some reason, the colors didn't transfer to blogger properly but still worth a look.

Another one from the archive.  A green tree snake.  Beautiful and harmless... to man.  I use to collect them when I was a child.

Seems like enough for one post.  Have a good one.

  4. Excellent shots of the Riverwalk in fog. I have always like the way fog makes everything seen suspended.
