It's something we all know is true
But God, it's so hard to do
To love your brother as yourself
To pretend, no, "know" that there is nothing else
To turn the other cheek
Although it paints you meek and weak
To know throughout your heartaches
When love prevails, hate abates
So, what's to lose?

I agree it's too bad kindness and weakness are equated. I don't remember the song title, but Albert Collins sang "don't mistake kindness for weakness."
ReplyDeleteWise advice.
