Ho Hum

It's early Friday morning.  Big weekend ahead.  Old school chums coming to town to go to the Amelia Island Concours de Elegance.  Should be great fun.  Need to write a new post but... neh.  No energy for it.  Totally uninspired.

Searching through the computer scrapyard for something interesting I ran across a file that I have been gathering for some time.  It's a collection of newspaper clippings.  Seems like the perfect time to trot some of it out.

 Happy Friday!

  1. I missed these articles. I guess I have to go ahead and renew my subscription to the national enquirer. And now you know why i never cook for my wife.

    1. LOL Probably all right to cook if you keep her out of the kitchen.

  2. It appears we find the same weird articles entertaining. In fact, I've used some of those same headlines on one of my posts a while back. As for that first article, the moral of that story is to not to use so much oil when cooking pancakes. By the way, I answered all the "thingies" you left in your comment.

    1. A phenomena I've never understood either, except for an inflated ego.

  4. Too funny. For some reason, that first item -- Teatime Love Bite -- reminded me of a joke that was going around in the early '90s.

    Q. What did Jeffrey Dahmer say to Lorena Bobbit?

    A. "Hey, are you gonna eat that?"

  5. what fun, I hadn't read any of them before and exploded quite spontaneously, without any of the aids advertised in the cuttings.

    1. Any of those aids for me and you would be reading an obituary.

  7. This was so funny, I had to read the one about the hippo and the dwarf out loud to my fiancé, and together we laughed like crazy at the unfortunate demise of the circus dwarf.

  8. Yeah, my unit had a camouflaged humvee disappear during a live fire exercise back in 1988. My unit had several small teams running around putting out fires one afternoon after we had our annual Stinger Missile firing. One real prick of a guy parked his humvee, behind a several small trees no less, and rode off with another team because he had rank on the guy who was in charge.

Several hours later its pitch black dark and this guy cannot find the place where he parked a very valuable government vehicle. Sometime around 5:00am the next day someone accidentally found it but the prick never lived that episode down.

  9. Had a real prick of a guy in my old army unit park a camouflaged humvee behind a group of tree and "loose" it. Took everyone in the unit all night to find the thing. The prick never lived the episode down.
