The Results Are In - Tea Party Members Are More Intelligent

News Flash:

Tea Party supporters are wealthier and more well-educated than the general public, and are no more or less afraid of falling into a lower socioeconomic class, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

Their responses are like the general public’s in many ways. Most describe the amount they paid in taxes this year as “fair.” Most send their children to public schools. A plurality do not think Sarah Palin is qualified to be president, and, despite their push for smaller government, they think that Social Security and Medicare are worth the cost to taxpayers.

Tea Party supporters’ fierce animosity toward Washington, and the president in particular, is rooted in deep pessimism about the direction of the country and the conviction that the policies of the Obama administration are disproportionately directed at helping the poor rather than the middle class or the rich.

The overwhelming majority of supporters say Mr. Obama does not share the values most Americans live by and that he does not understand the problems of people like themselves. More than half say the policies of the administration favor the poor, and 25 percent think that the administration favors blacks over whites.

  1. It is rather odd how the more we find out about this "movement" it is discovered that it is the same as a cattle drive or a sheep herd being taken to market.

One thing though after looking at every single sign and seeing the lack of ability to spell I am beginning to think that maybe we should have a literacy test to vote.

This could get much much uglier Mr. C...these motherfuckers and their herders simply are not going to have this black president tell them what to do.

There was a very similar historical situation in Detroit during the great northward migration from the south. When black and white began to mingle on equal legal footing. It got very ugly and matter of fact nearly a hundred years later it still is.

  2. That these folks are Better Educated surely points to the dramatic problems in the American Education system. But then, I've always supported the idea that the main goal of American Education is to produce factory workers who can only think well enough to follow instructions, never well enough to question. From that standpoint, it looks like Business as Usual wins again.

    Sheesh.

  3. One thing seems to be the equalizer in all of this Mark... money. I'm sure you've observed, as have I, that folks who live in gated communities get along just fine, no matter what their race. I'm not sure if it is a conspiracy or simply a fact of life that divides the lower economic classes over race. I would like to think that there's the rabble and those who rise above it. At least then we know the solution is to raise the standard of living for all. Oooops... I must be a Socialist.

    Pat... bingo!

  4. There are more angry people than there are Teabaggers, as usual, the ones who shout the loudest get all the attention and get used the most by politicians to further their own agenda.

  5. I'm sickened by the lack of available dictionaries. You can't spell check crayons and poster board.

Other than that...this post(content) makes my face scrunch up and stomach gurgle. Sigh.

  6. Not to beat a dead horse here, but if they are better educated than the general public, then why so damned many ignoramus type posters. It doesn't compute.

    Wealthier, that I can believe.

Remembering the civil rights struggle, as I know you do too C, this whole "movement" rings the same. Different horse, same damned racist riders.

  7. JJ... "Wealthier" is the key phrase here, not "wealthy." These dopes have been duped into believing they have more in common with the truly wealthy than the working poor. And, of course, they know they're better than those niggers.

  8. I agree with Holte Ender...

  10. Tex... what good is being angry if you aren't shouting? It makes sense that people sitting on their couches pissed off at the TV don't get any attention. At least one of the things the Teabaggers want I agree with... Don't re-elect anybody!!

Punch... it's the liberal media boy... the NYTimes and CBS.

  11. Don't even know what to say about this anymore. It's so...sad. Your photos and captions are quite funny (except for the final photo, which makes me frightened). Like you, I think about this so much and I wonder why change is always so hard. Though the TeaParty Movement is soooo against my own views, I think they're honestly just scared of feeling out of control. (Hey! Welcome to my world living under Bush for 8 years!) I can't figure out why so many of them believe that those who are underserved and living in poverty have actually created those situations for themselves...and are undeserving of services. Hope they never have to experience what it's like! But maybe that would create more understanding of why the changes are so needed.

  12. Gropius... My biggest fear is that with the continued disparity of wealth, more and more of us are going to know what it's like to live in poverty. If history is any lesson, that group grows until finally, it resolves itself in armed revolution.

  14. BTW...I just noticed the "How Old is Your Soul?" Just to the LEFT of this 'post a comment'.
    It measures
    Old Soul
    Transendent Souls
Mature Souls (might want to go through that door)
    Baby Souls
    Young Souls.

What about the Merry Old Souls?

  15. Dang Punch... You're right. I'm getting rid of that worthless thing right now. What good could it possibly be if it leaves out Merry Old Souls?
