Sleep Where Art Thou?

Too pooped to pop.  Sorry I missed G-Man's 55 this week and for neglecting the blog and blogger buddies altogether.  Just finished my first week on the job as a grant writer for a local homeless shelter.  Learning a lot about homelessness and its causes and will give a full report soon.  In the meantime, the job is a desperately needed blessing but I sure am missing my afternoon naps.  I'll need to catch up this weekend but as you can see, I'm blogging at 6:30 AM on a Saturday morning so not exactly off to a good catching-up-on-sleep start.   Plus, my buddy Punch is bunking with me this weekend as he is visiting for his 50th high school class reunion.  Sleep, where art thou?

  1. Good luck with the job. Non-profits were my main customers when I had my research business but fortunately I did it from home, so taking a short siesta was never a problem. Getting back into the 8 to 5 grind was a royal pain but learned to cope by finding a place to take brief power naps - sitting up.

    1. I've always wanted to live in a siesta culture. Seems so civilized to me.

  2. I've got the opposite problem. My work load has doubled but I'm at best getting four hours of sleep during the week. By Friday morning, technically my Saturday, I'm both brain dead and exhausted. Writing anything even partially decent is next to impossible.

  4. So did Punch farting in his sleep wake you up? My dog farts at 2AM like clockwork.

  6. Wait...you actually let Punch stay overnight? In your house?

It's an admirable thing you're doing C. Not a slam on you, but I can't help thinking that those poor folks out there sleeping under an Interstate, never have a chance to catch up at all.

    1. First thingy: good grief yes. He actually stayed here. It was only later I found my garbage can turned over and the dog knocked up.

Not all that admirable JJ. I needed a j-o-b. But totally agree about the homeless.

  9. You know those olive-drab mailbox thingies on the street that don't accept mail? They accept small mailmen. Many a good nap to be had in one of those. Best on a cool day.
