In this case, it's the sandhills and pine flatwoods of Florida, areas in which I haven't spent much time over the course of my life. Don't know why, because they are a major part of the landscape in these parts. I guess I'm just drawn to water and giant live oaks. However, as you can see, the flatwoods have a beauty all their own.
Had a close encounter with a family of deer this morning. A fawn, 10pt Buck and two Does. They were so beautiful and close that I didn't even think to raise the camera to my eye. I just enjoyed the moment. Hope you enjoy these.
Amanita Muscaria, also known as the Flycatcher. The mushroom that took Alice to Wonderland. It is the only Amanita that isn't deadly but it is most definitely psychedelic. |
Sometimes you just need a break...
ReplyDeleteNice photos. Good luck with the job hunt!
Great photos. Love those woods. Good luck with all that life is throwing your way.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope your interview was for a job that involves photography. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the interview! Knew a dickhead in the army that went around out in the field looking for different types of mushrooms to try for their psychedelic properties. He lasted about four months before they kicked him out.
ReplyDeletenice...that third pic down in beautiful...the simple field flowers....i will be in NC this weekend....hope the interview went well...
ReplyDeleteStopped eating 'shrooms when my mortality became evident. Except for those delicious chanterelles in our woods. Good luck with your newly organized life.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back :) Beautiful photos. The Amanita Muscaria mushroom (i.e. the hallucinations it brings) might also be responsible for the whole Santa Claus/flying reindeer mythology, based on the winter mushroom trips of ancient Siberian tribespeople. It's a theory anyway.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying these very much, Mr. C.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the interview!
Thanks everybody. Glad to be back on the blogisphere. I'll try to catch up with everyone in the next few days.
ReplyDeleteSo...did you party after snapping the pic of your shroom?
ReplyDeleteAmanitas are a little too heady for me. Now that I think about it, all of them are these days.
DeleteGreat Pics!!!

ReplyDeletelovely images and you seem to have conveyed a mood as well. I admire that! glad you are well and thoughtfully engaged in this complicated thing called life. the alternative, thoughtless disengagement, does not seem to be your style.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I never change my mind. except when I do.
onwards, through the fog, as we say in Newfoundland.
