He Was A Kind And Faithful Husband

He was a kind and faithful husband but ever forgetful of dates and occasions.  It wasn’t that he didn’t care, he did, he cared deeply, but he could never live up to her behavioral expectations.  In the end, he was condemned not for the things he did, but for the things he did not do.

  3. Nicely done. But I would say that you are wrong. It has been my experience we males are not condemned in the end, but before we even have a chance to get started. Once I realized this, I stopped worrying about when I got married, whose birthday I missed and what Sunday Easter fell on that year. I will always forget something and the ladies, well, they have "forgotten date radar". Call it a sixth sense or a gender related sensitivity to the thoughtless things we guys never thought of but should have......at least according to the women folk anyway.

Once I decided to live up to the low expectations, both of us seem happier. My wife's low opinion of me stays intact and I can now live my life in clueless bliss.

  4. it is often the case, it is not the things we do, but those we neglect that get us into trouble...you can only ignore for so long...

  8. No matter how many things you remember it's always the one you forget that was apparently the most important. Is it just a y chromosome thing?

  9. Sheesh. It isn't that women magically remember all those dates. However, we DO know how to make notations on these nifty little things they call "calendars". (What a concept, eh?) With 12 grandkids, there is no way I could ever remember all those birthdays without writing it down.
