He was a kind and faithful husband but ever forgetful of
dates and occasions. It wasn’t that he
didn’t care, he did, he cared deeply, but
he could never live up to her behavioral expectations. In the end, he was condemned not for the
things he did, but for the things he did not do.

ReplyDeleteSorry...Typo!
ReplyDeleteThus is the way of women Mr. Charleston.
(No offense to the understanding ones...Both of you)
Loved your observational 55 My Friend
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
back at 'cha G-man
DeleteNicely done. But I would say that you are wrong. It has been my experience we males are not condemned in the end, but before we even have a chance to get started. Once I realized this, I stopped worrying about when I got married, whose birthday I missed and what Sunday Easter fell on that year. I will always forget something and the ladies, well, they have "forgotten date radar". Call it a sixth sense or a gender related sensitivity to the thoughtless things we guys never thought of but should have......at least according to the women folk anyway.
ReplyDeleteOnce I decided to live up to the low expectations, both of us seem happier. My wife's low opinion of me stays intact and I can now live my life in clueless bliss.
LOL. I've got friends in low places where the whiskey flows with no expectations...
Deleteit is often the case, it is not the things we do, but those we neglect that get us into trouble...you can only ignore for so long...
ReplyDeleteAh...the sins of omission. They'll get you every time.
ReplyDeleteIs Omission a deadly sin? If not, it should be.
DeleteOuch!
ReplyDeleteAlright! My first deep, emotional reaction. Now if I could only make'm cry.
Deleteaaah, the did not do's can hurt so deeply...
ReplyDeleteYes indeed. In so many ways.
DeleteNo matter how many things you remember it's always the one you forget that was apparently the most important. Is it just a y chromosome thing?
ReplyDeleteLet's see... beer, chips & dips, football... there's something else...
DeleteSheesh. It isn't that women magically remember all those dates. However, we DO know how to make notations on these nifty little things they call "calendars". (What a concept, eh?) With 12 grandkids, there is no way I could ever remember all those birthdays without writing it down.
ReplyDeleteCalendars? Ha, next thing you'll be wanting us to use a map.
Deleteboo fucking hoo..she gave him a shot..he blew it..
ReplyDeleteI hope you recognize sarcasm?
I thought it was supposed to be she blew him.
DeleteI think both parties are just not perfect. We got to accept our IMPERFECTIONS and make the best out of being together. Great 55! Mine is here
ReplyDeleteHave you a TRULY BLESSED WEEK!!!
